July 4, 2009 found the band performing for the festivities at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC. This is the permanent home of the US aircraft carrier, the USS Yorktown, and just across the bridge from beautiful, historic Charleston, SC. The fireworks display from the deck of the Yorktown is nationally rated as one of the top five in the US. And it certainly lived up to it’s hype. The band has been very fortunate to have played for numerous 4th of July celebrations in various cities over the years but this was a standout. From the deck of the Yorktown, world-class fireworks were shot over the water as boats jammed into the harbor to witness the spectacle. A reported 30,000 attended to witness the 30 minute display and pay tribute to our great country. The band wishes to thank those responsible not only for asking us to play, but for the wonderful fireworks display. It was truly a memorable experience. As if that wasn’t cool enough, the band was also invited to play later in July for the Fort Bragg Formal Ball at The Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville, NC. Some 2300 guests attended what is surely Threshold’s largest indoor show to date. It was a great show and a wonderful chance for the band to entertain some of America’s military.
More recently (October) the band performed in the coliseum in Winston-Salem, NC for The President’s Ball for Wake Forest University. Over 6,000 students attended the festivities headlined by Threshold. The fun can be seen via a short combination slideshow/video by going to the VIDEO page on this website.
2010 has already seen the calendar rapidly filling up.
